Coaching is a relatively new profession in the UK, but there is a professional body who provide ethical standards for coaches - this is the International Coach Federation (ICF) - of which I have been a member since I qualified as a coach in 2001.
My Life and Organisational Coaching accreditation through the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara and my Advanced Coaching Certification through The Evolutionary Institute are certified and recognised by the ICF. This means my qualifications meet the ethical and professional standards expected of the governing body.
I am a member of both the ICF and The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. These memberships allow me to keep abreast of the latest ethical guidelines and industry standards.
All my coaching work is contracted individually with each client to ensure I adhere to the standards and ethics expected of a professional coach.
A full summary of the ICF ethics and operational practices are available from their website - http://www.CoachFederation.org. |
